A Time to Kill Cast Bios

Steven Bailey (Jake Brigance) Steven has participated in theatre for over twenty years. Some of his more recent acting credits include roles in The Diary of Anne Frank, Blithe Spirit, Picasso at the Lapin Agile, and The House on Haunted Hill. He thanks his wife, his friends, and you for continuing to support the arts.

Jeff "J.B." Beane (Vernon Pate) Jeff Beane started out acting with Lou Folke at South Caldwell High School in 1980, where he was the first recipient of the Best Thespian Award . He, then went on performing in many plays with Bill Wilson, Charles Jeffers and Ellis Boatman. He left the theater to start his business and a family. His daughter started participation in theater, and it has sparked new interest in theater for him. After thirty years he was cast in Guys and Dolls at the HUB, with Keith Smith. Jeff was also in To Kill A Mockingbird at FPA in which he played Atticus Finch, Alfred Doolittle in Pygmalion, Mr. Scanlon in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Bob Cratchit in the Christmas Carol and Tom Snout in Midsummer Night Roller Disco. He has worked as Stage Manager and Set Builder for Harvey, Farce of Nature, The King and I, and Annie at the Hub. He is also the winner of the Elisa F. Bishop award. His most recent play was Shawshank Redemption in which he played Captain Byron Hadley. Jeff is owner andoperator of Beane Electrical Service.

Bruce "D.J. Bruce" Hawkins (Sherriff Ozzie Walls) is a 50-year-old Retired state employee. wedding and event DJ for 25 years. Married to Lori Hawkins 4 children and 6 grand children. First time on stage. And enjoying the experience.

Sandra Poarch (Olga Noose) is making her stage debut in this production, marking both her first time in a play and her first time performing in front of an audience. Her only prior theater experience came when she was asked last minute to run lights and sound for FPA's "Shawshank Redemption". With excitement and nervous energy, Sandra is ready to take on this new challenge and bring her character to life. Sandra worked in the Caldwell County School system for 20 years and is now the Student Information System Coordinator for Hickory City Schools.

William Sherrill (Drew Tyndale) William Sherrill has been with FPA for roughly over two years. His first part with FPA was as the role of Rico in "Shawshank Redemption". His most recent role was the male lead in "Harold & Maude" as the titular Harold. Now he is back with FPA as Tyndale in "A Time to Kill".

Jim Engelman (Rufus R. Buckley) This is my sixth show for FPA including SOUTHERN FRIED FUNERAL and ANNIE. I am excited to work with the director Jordan Randall and this excellent cast of actors and actresses. I want to thank my wife of 37 years, Brenda, for allowing me to play around on stage.

Madison Paige (Norma Gallo) Maddie is a Medical Laboratory Scientist making her debut into the theater community. While her role may be small she is grateful to be a part of the production and hopes this show inspires and enlightens the audience with its powerful impact. She is especially grateful to her partner,
Jordan A. Randall, who is directing the show, for all of his hard work. It is with his encouragement she felt able to take the plunge into the wonderful world of acting. She wants to thank her castmates, the audience, and all of her friends and family as well.

Dalton Ryder (Billy Ray Cobb) This is Dalton's second time working with FPA and he is excited to help bring this story to life. Dalton did theatre all through high school, acting in every show he could. He came back into the acting scene last year as Pritchard in House on Haunted Hill for FPA and he also did tech as a sound technician for Hickory Community Theatre's Hot Wing King and has been loving every second of it. He hopes to act in many more shows to come.

David Kerley (D. R. Musgrove) David, author of '50 Kerley Cues to my Wonderful Life,' was seen in FPA's productions of The Shawshank Redemption ('22), Harold and Maude ('23), and All the King's Women ('24).

Emily Mady (Ellen Roark) Emily is excited to perform for the third time at Foothills Performing Arts with such an amazing cast! Emily is an elementary music teacher who enjoys reading, drawing, and playing with her cat, Muffin. She is thankful for the abilities the Lord has given her to tell wonderful stories on stage.

Dior Scott (Gwen Hailey) Proud Philadelphia native, Dior has recently starred as Emma Borden in Lizzie at Lee Street Theatre and Daniela in In The Heights At Hickory Community Theatre. Dior is currently double majoring in Psychology and Musical Theatre Performance at Appalachian State in Boone. Dior is excited for her first production at Foothills Performing Arts and looks forward to future opportunities with them.

Brian Costin (Dr. W. T. Bass) is an English teacher at Caldwell Applied Sciences Academy. He would like to thank his wife Melissa for letting him come out and play.

Dan Greenfield (Dr. Wilbert Rodeheaver) Dan is in his 10th decade of “trodding the boards,” and he still finds every outing to be thrilling and fulfilling. He was last seen as “Brooksie” in FPA’s “Shawshank Redemption.” We hope you are moved by our story. God Bless America!

Donna Bartley (Cora Cobb) Donna is new to the FPA family and looks forward to being a part of this show. She has performed at the Hickory Community Theatre as well as with the Tupelo Community Theatre in her hometown of Tupelo MS. She sings with the Blue Ridge Voices and she loves to write poetry. Donna would like to thank Jordan and Jairo for this opportunity as well as her family for all the love and support.

Ivey Athena Austin (Deputy/Guard) is a 16-year-old who graduated early and wanted to join a theater group. She has been is 2 other shows 10 Ways to survive a zombie apocalypse, and the Wizard of Oz. Fun fact She can do impression, and thanks her parents for driving everywhere for her.

Meredith Hall Watson (Tech Crew) Meredith was recently seen on the FPA stage as Cathy/Leslie in All the King's Women and in the ensemble in Annie. She is proud to be in her eighth year of teaching math at Hibriten High School. Meredith would like to thank her family and friends for their support.
