General Audition Information
We invite you to join us onstage, backstage, or in the audience for a fun and rewarding experience.
Foothills practices non-traditional casting. No prior experience is necessary.
Auditions are typically "cold reads." These types of auditions consist of performing selections (called "sides") from the show for which you are auditioning with only a few minutes to prepare. This allows each person auditioning to be seen more than once, and to be considered for multiple roles. Make sure to check the information specific to each show to ensure that you know what to expect.
**The following character descriptions are from the book and script, and physical descriptions DO NOT NECESSARILY REFLECT the casting intentions of the director.
All casting decisions are made by the directors and artistic staff.

FOR YOUR AUDITION
For your audition:
For your audition:
- Prepare at least a 32 bar cut (60-90 seconds) of a song in the style of ANNIE. Please do not sing a song from the show. We would like to hear your vocal ability and show characterization through song.
- You may use a background track OR sheet music for an accompanist. We will provide a Bluetooth speaker for you to connect your devices and an accompanist. No acapella, please.
- Please find your own background tracks for auditions with NO vocals (karaoke style or pre recorded accompaniment are preferred. YouTube a karaoke track of the song you would like to sing for auditions).
- Bring clothes & appropriate shoes to move in for a dance portion of the audition.
- Be prepared to read from the script if asked. You may be paired with other people.
- Parents will not be allowed in the audition room. There will be a waiting area provided!
- You will be called in one at a time to sing for the director and musical director. After your song, you will be grouped to do a dance audition. Once completed, you will be released.
- If needed, those called back will be notified via email by the stage manager on Tuesday night, November 5. Callbacks will be on Wednesday November 6 at 7pm. Please be familiar with the songs that the character you’re auditioning for sings in the show. The director may ask you to sing a portion of one of their songs.
- Please bring a list of potential conflicts through January 2025. No one will be excluded for having holiday plans with their families. BUT the director will take this into consideration for specific roles.
- Tentative rehearsal start date is Sunday, November 10th.
